A little bit about me and what I'm doing here...

I am sure you may be wondering: "Who is this modern day NYC Mom and why would I want to read what she has to write? What does she have to offer me?" Well, in order for you to deduce whether or not you care what I have to say, I will first give you a little information about who I am and what I have to offer.

Well, I'm a modern day nyc mom, of course!!! What exactly does that mean? Let's break it down.

First off, what makes me "modern day"? There's the obvious answer, which is that I am a Mom in the year 2009. That makes me a modern day Mom by default. But here are a few reasons why I define me as a modern day Mom:

1. I work outside of the home.
2. I don't know how to cook from scratch. Most of my "cooking" takes no longer than 15 minutes tops via microwaving different products. (I don't own a single apron.)
3. I know only the basics of sewing. My philosophy is that if something has a whole in it, we could usually just buy a new one!
4. I don't really know any cleaning or laundry tips and tricks.
5. I love technology!
  • 5a. I'm a little bit of an "As Seen on TV" junkie. If it seems as if it can make one's life easier, it's worth giving a shot for $19.99, don't you think??? (How many of those products have actually made my life easier? Um, probably 1 or 2.)
  • 5b. I'm also a huge fan of the internet. I can't remember what life was like before it. It really is the Information Superhighway. It's also the Entertainment Highway. Anything you need can be found on the internet. (I would ask you togive it a try, but if you're reading this, you're obviously already wise to that fact! LOL!)
Those are the most relevant "modern day" facts I can think of for now. If I think of anymore later on, I'll let you know. ;-P

Now, what is it that warrants me to have NYC in my title? Well, that's simple. I live here! But not only do I live here now, I was also born and raised here. I know everything there is to know about NYC! Okay, weeell, not eeeverything. But I do know how to survive in the city. There are just some things that I've done so many times they're just ingrained in me. So, I have that knowledge to offer you.

The word "Mom" has no hidden meaning. I'm a Mom! But here's the thing. I'm a NEW Mom! I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy at Brooklyn Birthing Center in September of last year. It was a wonderful experience. So, I can take all of you new Moms and "new again" Moms along with me on the journey of raising my son. (I am married, btw. I just thought to let you know that being it isn't specifically mentioned in my title.)

So, aside from what I've already mentioned, here's some of what I plan on offering you.
  1. Tips and tricks on how to handle yourself and your belongings when visiting NYC.
  2. What to do while in NYC, while considering your budget.
  3. Reviews about products I think you should try.
  4. Advice on how to become a better person.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! You're probably wondering what makes me an expert on becoming a better person? It's quite simple actually. I have had so much experience with self-centered people being rude to me (and others) that I have developed quick, simple fixes that don't allow me to act the same as them. If you follow these tricks, you can do the same.
Intrigued yet? Then "stay tuned" and read on...
